No more AppleServer – still a Mac

Well, well, after installing a new version of Apache, Postfix, better to say the Apple’s hijacked Postfix crashed, unrecoverable, became a Nofix binary and took the whole mailserver down.
First I tried to fix this, I ended up with setting up everything anew on that box, which is an elderly MacMini.
And what a surprise, the Mini is now smoothly cruising. No more sweating memory, just cool, no drama, no bloat.
I replaced amavisd and spamassassin with rspamd, which connects through a milter to postfix. Very cool, fast and clean. And rspamd isn’t eating up the memory as spamassassin did. It will still need some polishing and teaching.
I also buried Apache finally. This blog is now served by Nginx with phps fast-cgi.
I knew Nginx is faster than Apache, but that it’s so much faster, I was really surprised.
I’m still thinking about, installing Radicale as Webdav and CalDav server or just drop it?
Maybe first will be php8.x 🙂
